theyre just too simple, w/o taking so many other things in mind, or at least not expressing them. like drunk driving--it's wrong even if they dont kill anyone just bc of the high potential that it could happen. plus, if they just kill themselves its still wrong bc of the poor officers that have to clean that shit up, and all the ppl that have to take longer to get home bc of the traffic, etc. anyway, i know it was supposed to be a catchy lil thang, but i guess some of your answers are just too simplistic to really express how you feel on a subject

Wasn't supposed to be catchy at all. Was blunt, honest, and straight to the point: I don't think that there should be many of the laws that currently exist. People should be responsible enough to govern themselves, but I recognize the fact that they generally aren't. As such, I recognize the need for the laws in general, but I don't see why some issues are even up to the lawmakers to start with: Premarital sex for example. It actually is still illegal in some states, and many countries. Going even further, why does it matter who sells their body for sex? Honestly? I think it simply dates back to a time when it was considered 'against the faith', or 'immoral in the eyes of god'. Neither of which are supposed to have any real bearing on the way that this fine country we call the "Home of the Free" decides the laws. But in reality, every president we've ever had has said 'God bless America' at least once, and our Congress still makes decisions based on their personal feelings instead of what their respective states truly want.

Not too simplistic at all. Keep your laws off my body. I've done nothing to warrant them in terms of my morals, sex life, health, or the health of others. Until I do, keep your laws off my body. If someone else impugns me, my body, or someone else or their body, then laws should apply to them, but not before. My answers may not have seemed like they said a whole lot, but they do explain my rather simplistic point of view. It's not that my answers were too simplisitic to "really express how" I feel "on a subject", it's that my answers were too simplistic for you to believe that they explained my viewpoint. My viewpoint and how I feel really is expressed in my rather plain and anarchist statements.

the problem is, w/o laws in the first place, there is no legal ground to punish ppl when they do something wrong. further, "youre our government, youre supposed to protect us!" the public often cries. therefore, it is necessary to enact such laws as making drugs [is really the making/selling of drugs thats illegal, but doing drugs also must be illegal in that case, bc where'd they come from], prostitution, and driving drunk or drinking under 21. this is to "protect" the ppl that the government govern, as they are all too often problematic in protecting themselves as an INDIRECT result of the actions of others:

prostitution--my husband cheats on me w/a prostitute that harbours disease. he comes home and shares said disease w/me. why wasnt i protected from this? i didnt know he was cheating, and i didnt screw the prostitute. why do i have to pay the price?

drugs--my child is the victim of a drug related death or i'm the victim of another drug related crime. my child was unwittingly seduced into doing a drug for some reaosn or another, it's not that he's a bad person, or stupid, it's just that he doesnt know what they can do to him. or a bad batch that was sold under the impression that it would 'get him high' and not kill him. or, somebody broke into my house to steal things to make enough money to get drugs. in our culture, this would probably happen even if drugs were legal. the government knows the harmful affects of drugs, why did they allow ppl to make them, resulting in a chain reaction that led up to these results?

legal drinking age and driving drunk--well, we once tried bringing the legal drinking age to 18. all alcohol related deaths for ppl age 18-21 were increased ONE HUNDRED PERCENT! and i'm sure that there were additional deaths involved that were from older ppl or ppl that werent drinking. we now know the consequences. we also know that ppl around that age dont always listen to their parents about not drinking, or being safe, and many new drinkers dont know how to control drinking before it injures them bc they dont have experience to back this up on. so imagine it was your child, your brother or sister, other family member, that was drinking and died somehow, or a family member that died as a result of the actions of someone that age who was drinking. and the government KNOWS that this is likely, therefore, if they let it happen...they are naughty shameful ppl.

so, i do agree w/some of your opinions. i'm all for legal abortion, otherwise too many illegal abortions will kill too many women. i'm also for more education on sex and its consequences, and educating women more on their alternatives to abortion, enabling women to prevent the need for abortions in the first place, or knowing that they have an alternative if theyd like. i also think premarital sex laws are silly [statutory rape laws are not, however, and i think sometimes the laws might be based on that kinda thing] but often times there are laws created that are hardly help up anymore, and ppl forget about them so we dont remove the laws. but the thing to keep in mind is that a lot of laws up-held today, while sometimes up-held in some silly ways, are up-held not to condemn "bad/immoral" ppl, but to protect ppl like you and me--not the ppl who commit crimes, but the victims of them.
